You can find a company’s main competitors in the following databases:
Click on the links above to learn how to find company competitor information in each of the sources listed.
Login to Business Source Ultimate.
Click on the More link from the blue menu bar toward the top left-hand corner of the database’s home page and then click on Company Profiles from the resulting drop-down menu.
You can then enter a company’s name in the search box or browse to find its MarketLine or Medtrack profile.
Profiles will generally include a section titled "Top Competitors" or something similar.
Login to Gale Business: Insights.
Click on the Browse All Companies button, enter a company's name in the search box, and then click on the company's name on the search results page.
The company profile page includes a section titled "Competitors."
Login to Hoovers.
Enter a company’s name in the “Search for a Company” box at the top of the database’s home page.
Competitor information can be found in the menu bar on the left-hand side of the company overview page, below the "Advanced" heading; see entries for "Competitors," "Closest Industry Peers," and/or "Closest Companies."
Login to IBISWorld.
Enter a company’s name in the search box.
The Industry Market Share section will show how the company is doing in comparison to its competitors in various relevant industries. Click on the Learn More link for any industry to access information about the company’s performance as compared to that of its top competitors in the selected industry. The Scale section of the resulting page will list the company's top competitor(s). Click on the View All Competitors link to see other competitors in the selected industry.
Login to Nexis Uni.
Click on the Find a Company link on the database's home page, below the search box.
On the Find a Company page, enter a company’s name in the “Company name” search box and click on its name on the results page.
Competitor information can be found by clicking on the Company Information link on the left-hand side of the company dossier page and then on the Competitors link from the resulting sub-menu.
Login to Statista.
Enter a company's name in the search box on the database's home page, putting quotation marks around a company name consisting of two or more words (for example, "under armour").
The search results page will contain all available information relevant to the company. The Statista Dossier for the company may include information about the company's competitors. Statistics may show how the company's performance compares to that of its competitors. Forecasts and surveys may show predictions for the company's and its competitors' performance.
