Finding a Company's History

Company Websites

You can often find information about a particular company's history on the company's own website, often toward the bottom of the company's home page. Look for a section entitled "About us" or "Our story," etc.

Library Databases

Some UMGC Library databases also contain information about a company's history. Databases that can be used to find a company's history include:

Business Source Ultimate

Login to Business Source Ultimate.

Click on the More link from the blue menu bar toward the top left-hand corner of the database’s home page and then click on Company Profiles from the resulting drop-down menu.

You can then enter a company’s name in the search box or browse to find its MarketLine or Medtrack profile, which may include a section that discusses the company's history.

Gale Business: Insights

Login to Gale Business: Insights.

Click on the Browse All Companies button, enter a company's name in the search box, and then click on the company's name on the search results page.

The company profile page may include links for Company History and/or Chronology.

Hoovers

Login to Hoovers.

Enter a company's name in the "Search for a Company" box at the top of the database's home page.

On the left-hand side of the company information page, you may see a Company History link.

Nexis Uni

Login to Nexis Uni.

Click on the Find a Company link on the database's home page, below the search box.

On the Find a Company page, enter a company’s name in the “Company name” search box and click on its name on the results page.

If available, a company history can be found by clicking on the Company Information link on the left-hand side of the company dossier page and then on the Company History link from the resulting sub-menu.
