Many ICPSR datasets may only be downloaded by current UMGC students, faculty, and staff. Federally funded data may be accessed and downloaded by the general public.
To download ICPSR data:
- Log in to your ICPSR account
- Search or browse for data on a topic
- On the search results page, click on the link for a study. You can use the filters on the left-hand side of the search results page to limit search results by data type, data availability, mode of data collection, etc.
- On the page for the study that you selected, click on the Download link and then select the desired data format from the available options. Most datasets are available in ASCII, SAS, SPSS, and/or Stata; virtually all are available in ASCII format.
- Read the Terms of Use and click on the Agree button to accept the terms
- Data will be downloaded into a .zip file
