Citing & Writing
Why Citations Matter
Citations are a way that you give credit to the sources you use in a research project. Citations enable you to specify the journal article, book, or website where you found an idea, fact, or quotation that you're using in your project.
Citations help!
- By citing your sources, you maintain high Academic Integrity standards.
- Citations make your writing stronger by showing the informative, trustworthy sources you used in your research.
Also please see our library webinars, which include sessions on citations.
Please note: if you're looking for the library's Cite Right tutorial, it has been discontinued. Please use this Citing & Writing page for detailed and comprehensive citation examples, tools, and guides.
