You might want to begin your legal research by searching for articles from legal newspapers, magazines, and newsletters. Such articles are not considered scholarly, but they are useful for orienting you to a topic, finding background information, and researching current events.
You can find legal newspapers, magazines, and newsletters covering general, regional, and specialized legal topics in the following databases:
On the Nexis Uni homepage, enter your keywords and click on the All Nexis Uni dropdown. Then under Content Collection, narrow by Legal News.
In Academic Search Ultimate, you can search for news articles. On the Advanced Search page, enter your keywords. Before clicking Search, scroll down to Search Options. Under Publication Type, select Newspaper.
You can also narrow your results to Newspapers on the Results page. Along the left side of your results you will find Refine Results. Scroll down to Source Types, and select Newspapers.
