EVERWAY SOFTWARE: GETTING STARTED
Frequently Asked Questions
Which sign-in option do I choose?
Users should choose the "Sign In with Microsoft" option and use their full UMGC email and password to access Everway software.

I logged in with my email and password, and it didn't work. What can I do?

- Restart your computer or browser.
- Re-download the Everway software and follow any installation guides.
- When prompted, choose "Sign in with Microsoft" and log in with your full UMGC email and password.
If this does not resolve the issue, please take a screenshot of the error message and send it to Accessibility Services at accessibilityservices@umgc.edu with a request for additional assistance.
How do I use Everway in the D2L/LEO classroom?
We recommend using the browser extension version of Read&Write to navigate and interact with content in your D2L classroom. The Read&Write browser extension is available for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and can be found on the Everway download page at the following link:
Read&Write won’t read my PDF? Now what?
If Read&Write does not recognize any text on your PDF, we recommend two options:
- Read&Write Desktop: The Scan tool will scan and convert your document into a readable format with the text-to-speech reader.
- OrbitNote: OrbitNote will automatically detect and offer to scan PDF documents if needed. OrbitNote can be accessed at the following website: orbitnote.texthelp.com
The text-to-speech voice is too fast or too slow. How can I adjust this?
Everyway is highly customizable to suit a variety of user preferences. To change any of the voice settings:
- Navigate to the software Settings menu through either the three-dot or three-line menu icon.
- Choose "Speech" from the side menu options.
In the Speech settings, you can set a number of Speech preferences including the voice itself, the speed of the voice, and in some cases, the pitch of the voice.
