Safari Books Online

Safari Books Online has a new interface!

Sign in and set up an account.  You'll need to sign in using your UMGC email account.   Once you sign in, you'll have immediate access to the content, and you'll shortly receive an e-mail from Safari prompting you to set up a password and complete your account creation (recommended).

Students:  Your UMGC e-mail account is your username + @student.umgc.edu (example: hsolo2@student.umgc.edu).

Safari sign in screen. Use your UMGC e-mail address.

Features include choosing topics you're interested in, creating content playlists, getting personalized recommendations, highlighting sections and adding notes, and sharing content.  You can also explore the "Learning Paths".

Download the app and use Safari on the go.

Visit the Support Center for details about using the features as well as the mobile app, or to contact Safari for help.

Please provide as much detail as possible, including information about how you are accessing the service (when relevant).

Unlimited users:  The former Safari interface only allowed a limited number of individuals to access it at one time, but the new interface is now unlimited.

ADA/Section 508 Compliance:

Safari states that they are dedicated to making their "online services and content accessible to the widest possible range of users" and provides the following statement regarding Section 508 compliance:  How does Safari address accessibility?

Based on this information and the fact that Safari now allows for unlimited users the Library has placed it in our list of e-book collections which can be used for required readings. For ELM courses, program and course chairs should request the materials as they would other library resources, and LD&S will perform ADA compliance testing on the specific title or section requested.
