PSYC 436: Journal Search

A Library Subject Guide

Journal search

Here's how to find an article in the Journal of Clinical Psychology.

Login to our database Academic Search Ultimate

Set up a search like this:

Note that we typed the journal name, inside quotation marks, into the first box, and used the pulldown menu to the right to select "SO Publication Name"

Note, too, that we entered keywords for a topic into the second box. Keep your keywords, your topic, fairly broad and general--a simple, broad search works best when we've limited our results to only one journal.

Click on Search. When the database does the search, all the results will be from the Journal of Clinical Psychology.

To limit to a particular time period, scroll down and under "Limit your results" add the desired dates.

If your article has to be experimental (empirical), here is a guide for how to identify experimental (empirical) articles.
